Shilajit forms in mineral rock, and unpurified or poorly processed resin can carry trace heavy metals, including lead and arsenic. This is not a rare or exaggerated concern, it is the single most important thing to verify before buying any shilajit product. A brand that purifies its resin will generally say so and will typically reference third party heavy metal testing somewhere on the product page or packaging. A brand that says nothing about testing at all should be treated as a real gap, not an oversight to shrug off.
